π± What is Mobile Number Portability (MNP)?
Mobile Number Portability (MNP) allows users to keep their existing mobile number even when they switch to a different network provider β for example, moving from Smart to Globe or DITO without changing your number.
This was made possible by the Republic Act No. 11202, also known as the Mobile Number Portability Act, which took effect in the Philippines in September 2021.
π How MNP Works
- Request a transfer (porting) from your **new chosen network**.
- Submit your valid ID and SIM registration info.
- Get your **Unique Subscriber Code (USC)** from your current network.
- Your new provider will process your transfer β usually within 1β2 days.
Once approved, your SIM will work on the new network while keeping the same mobile number.
π¦ Requirements for MNP
- Valid government-issued ID
- Active SIM card (registered under your name)
- No unpaid bills or ongoing promo lock-ins
- Get your Unique Subscriber Code (USC) from your old provider
